“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty”. John 6:35

Happy Sunday, but even better, Happy Feast of St. Valentine! As I write this post I am sitting here giggling about all of the things I have going on and how they are all tied together so well. As I mentioned yesterday, I am going on a retreat. The theme is “I THIRST” and to be honest, I picked this quote without knowing the theme since I am not really on the planning team, but there to serve I am not totally in tune with what is going on this weekend other than God is going to rock the house.

This quote is so appropriate following the Hussem’s love story… In today’s world we can all get so caught up in thirsting for the wrong things… whether it be material, physical, emotional; to name a few. I think back to college (it really hasn’t been that long, but it feels like its been a trillion years) and how Valentines Day was always a competition- who is getting the biggest bouquet of flowers delivered to the house, or which frat is going to deliver roses. Also being at USC brought Bottega Louis into the picture… so forget the flowers, who is getting a big box of Macaroons?

When you feel that you need something to fill a hole or take away some sadness, rather than grabbing the physical fix, stop and say a prayer. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy, just simply ask God to help you transform your heart to thirst for him and not the material, physical or emotional things. He will transform your heart just the way he desires it to be.

For everyone who may not be spending today with a significant other, take time today to stop and pray for your future spouse.

Have a blessed day, as well as 2nd week of Lent.

Fearlessly,

TeresaI am the bread of life. John 6:35
