Many Gifts: One Mission
One of the many gifts that comes with being part of the My Saint My Hero family is meeting like-minded, God-loving, mission-driven people with incredible stories. Teresa, who works in Mission Development at My Saint My Hero is here to share some news about her friend, Andrew Laubacher, also known as ALob to his friends, a talented musician who is on a mission to spread God’s blessings.
Hi everyone, I wanted to take some time to share with you about my good friend Andrew, who is also a good friend of My Saint My Hero. Last year as we prepared for World Youth Day, Andrew Laubacher (ALob) and Emily Wilson partnered with My Saint My Hero to create a song in honor of the Year of Mercy, called Mercy Wins.
“Our Lord Delights in us each day, forgives us, and showers us with Mercy.”
Shortly after this song was released, Andrew felt called to take the risk and go into traveling ministry full-time. He left his job at a wonderful Catholic High School, something most of us would consider stable and comfortable, to travel the world in order to share God’s blessings through his story, his voice and music. Since then I’ve had the chance to worship with Andrew several times, and without a doubt God is blessing his “Yes”.
Just a few weeks ago Andrew (aka. ALob) announced that he decided to record a full-length album. He is on his way to Texas to record it now, but still has quite a bit of ground to cover to complete the project. I invite you to check out his work and the scope of his project. If you can’t support him with a donation, please, please, please shower him with your prayers. Also stay tuned in to our Instagram live! Andrew, a few of our friends and I will be leading a retreat in Houston, TX for young adults in a few weeks and I can promise a great sneak peak!
Each of us is on our own journey as we walk this earth. Our goal is to find the path that leads us to perfect union with God and we are thankful for the saints that have gone before us to show the way. They exemplify the beauty of the diversity with which God has a personal relationship with each one of us. He knows how to meet us exactly where we are in every moment of our lives and we are grateful to those like ALob that are open to sharing their story.
“Lord, help me to simplify my life by learning what you want me to be and becoming that person.” St. Therese of Lisieux
