St Patrick, a 5th century warrior of God and Ireland’s Patron Saint, once wrote: “Christ in the heart of every person who thinks of me, Christ in the eye that sees me, Christ in the ear that hears me,” He was captured and sold into slavery in Ireland as a teenager. During his captivity he devoted himself to prayer. He escaped, but he dreamed Ireland’s children were calling to him, and returned to Ireland as a missionary. He is known to be responsible for converting Ireland from paganism to Christianity and establishing the Church. He was a unifying symbol for Ireland and true hero to admire.
The path to holiness has been clearly marked out by the saints. May we all continue to learn and heed the calling of the Holy Spirit in our lives!
The shamrock, a distinct 3 petal clover, helped St. Patrick explain the Blessed Trinity – The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
Prayer for the Faithful
May the Strength of God guide us. May the Power of God preserve us. May the Wisdom of God instruct us. May the Hand of God protect us. May the Way of God direct us. May the Shield of God defend us. May the Angels of God guard us – Against the snares of the evil one.
May Christ be with us! May Christ be before us. Christ be over all! May Thy Grace, Lord, Always be ours, This day, O Lord, and forevermore. Amen
